Frequently Asked

Your Questions

Do I need to book helicopter sightseeing separately from my hotel?
No — we arrange both together. When you reserve your hotel stay through theAlpsExperience, simply add helicopter sightseeing to your reservation. We coordinate the airfield transfer, flight timing, and route briefing as part of the same booking.
Which resorts have helicopter access?
Gstaad (Hotel 2 in our portfolio) has Saanen Airport just 5 minutes away — one of Switzerland's finest private airfields. Crans-Montana (Hotel 1) is 25 minutes from Sion Airport. Hotel 3 in Villars does not have helicopter access in our current programme, though bespoke arrangements may be possible on request.
What type of helicopter is used?
Routes are flown in Airbus H125 or EC120 helicopters — modern, single-engine tourist aircraft with large panoramic windows. The H125 seats up to 5 passengers; the EC120 up to 4. Both are certified for high-altitude Alpine operations.
Is helicopter sightseeing available in summer?
Yes — summer is actually the finest season for Alpine helicopter sightseeing. Clear skies, green valleys contrasting with permanent glaciers, and the ability to land on high-altitude snow platforms. Winter flights are also spectacular but subject to weather windows.
Can children fly?
Yes. Children from age 3 and above can fly on sightseeing routes. All passengers are provided noise-cancelling headsets. We recommend the 20-minute Lauterbrunnental route as an ideal introduction for families with younger children.
What happens if the weather is bad?
Alpine weather can change quickly. Flights are confirmed 24 hours in advance based on the aviation weather forecast. If a flight cannot proceed, we reschedule at no cost or provide a full refund of the helicopter portion of your booking.
